DIY Barn Door

I’ve been lusting after sliding barn doors for a while now.  Unfortunately, they are really expensive!  Like, $500 expensive.  When I saw a DIY tutorial online over at Jenna Sue Design, I knew I had to build my own 🙂

This past weekend, my husband and I borrowed my dad’s miter saw and got to work!  We had Home Depot cut all of our boards to size, except for the cross-piece that we would have to measure and cut ourselves.  I was surprised how quickly everything came together.

Waiting for stain to dry

I LOVE how it turned out!  We applied one coat of Minwax stain in Jacobean and let it dry overnight.  I can’t wait to install it in our bedroom!  It will add the perfect rustic touch 🙂 You can read about the install here.  As always, I want to give a big thank you to my husband for his help and patience with my never-ending to do lists ❤
