Tomorrow is already February 1st! I can’t wait for spring; I need some sunshine in my life ❤ I have several goals in mind for February that I would like to accomplish and share with you:
*Lose 5 more pounds
*Finish all bedrooms
*Make time for Friday date nights
*Work on developing a cleaning routine that I can stick to
For our master bedroom, we still need to finish up the closet (add new organizers and a makeup vanity 🙂 ) Then there are just a few small details, like adding some wall art or pictures. I would also like to get some cute throw pillows for our bed.
The guest bedroom could use a new comforter (I accidentally spilled paint on our current one) and some wall art or pictures would really spruce up the space. I also thought maybe adding a DIY blanket ladder would be cute to display some of our extra blankets for potential guests that may stay the night with us. I also need to clean out the closet and come up with a good system for my craft supplies and gift wrap.
The REAL task will be our third bedroom, which still needs quite a bit of work. Once finished, it will be my husband’s hobby room. It’s a blank slate right now, but we have at least replaced the light fixture, blinds, doorknobs, hinges, outlets, switches and added a new doorstopper. We will still need to paint the walls, trim and doors. Once that is all done, we can put up some of my husband’s pictures and maybe some shelves to display his models. We will also need to clean out that closet and organize all of his craft supplies as well. We are just a crafty bunch at my house 🙂 We will probably also put together a DIY folding craft table similar to this one:
I know my husband will be excited to finally have a hobby room, and I am excited to be one step closer to being finished with painting!
As far as establishing a cleaning routine: its great in theory. I can come up with routines all day long. My problem is sticking to them. I don’t know how other people always keep a perfectly clean home. I will do really well for a day or two, but then I’ll have a really stressful day at work or an appointment that throws off my usual schedule, and then my cleaning routine is out the window. Perhaps I need to adjust my routine each week to make room for unexpected times where I may not be able to clean that day, or just give myself a day off. I will have to experiment to find out what works best for me.
