We have decided to finally put our house on the market this April.  This gives us 4 months to complete our decluttering process and fix anything with the house before we list.  We really don’t have a lot left to do, but the whole decision has me a little anxious.  What happens if the house doesn’t sell?  What if we don’t find a new house in AL and end up living in an apartment forever?  What if I hate AL and want to move back to TN?  What if, what if, what if.

To try to alleviate some of my anxiety, I’m going to (attempt to) focus on finishing up projects around the house to make it more desirable to buyers.  Here’s what we are going to finish in the next 4 months:

-replace roof
-finish painting kitchen cabinets
-fix broken tile beside fireplace
-replace entry flooring
-touch up paint (walls, trim, doors, ceiling, etc)
-clean carpets
-fix laundry room doors
-caulk exterior
-paint mailbox
-paint front porch
-stain deck
-paint garage

In addition, we have been working hard on decluttering the house, but we still have lots to do.  If we do end up moving into an apartment while we house hunt in AL, how are we going to fit everything from our entire house into a small two bedroom apartment?  There’s always the option of renting a storage facility, but I hate the idea of paying just to store our things.  On the other hand, even if we decluttered down to bare bones, where would our lawn care equipment go?  We can’t really store a lawnmower in an indoor closet 😉

So there you have it, lots of unanswered questions.   At the end of the day, it’s just stuff.  Trying to keep things in perspective 🙂
