Progress

For the past year, I have been consumed with renovating our house.  I have always had a knack for interior design, and it is something I truly enjoy.  My husband and I purchased our first home in July 2015, and have been working around the clock since.

Our first task was the downstairs bathroom.  It was an explosion of 90s fixtures and seashell countertops.  They HAD.TO.GO.  Here is the before:

Our to do list included:

Replace the vanity light
Replace the mirror (found the new one for a bargain at @home!)
Replace the countertop
Replace the faucets
Paint the vanity base
Replace the vanity hardware
Replace the toilet seat
Replace the toilet lever
Replace standard outlets with GFCI outlets
Replace light switches (the old ones were COVERED in paint)
Spray paint overhead light (from brass to ORB)
Replace shower curtain rod
Replace shower head
Replace shower faucet and drain
Replace shower lever
New bathroom fan
New shower curtain
New hand towel bar
New toilet paper holder
New trashcan
New doorknob
New hinges
New robe hook
Paint walls (We used Behr Studio Taupe)
Paint trim
Paint ceiling
Paint door

I think my favorite thing so far has been the new countertop.  It really updates the whole space.  The only thing left to do is replace the flooring 🙂  I feel like I can hear my husband’s sigh of relief from the other room!
